The story of Audi
August Horch founded Audi in 1909 after a falling-out with his original company — "Audi" is the Latin translation of "Horch" (listen).
Audi joined Auto Union in 1932 (the source of the four-ring logo) and was acquired by VW in 1964. The Quattro of 1980 introduced permanent AWD to rallying and road cars alike.
Today Audi sits at the premium end of the VAG family, sharing platforms with VW, SEAT and Škoda — which means strong UK breaker supply for shared components.
