The story of Renault
Renault was founded by the Renault brothers in 1898 and built France's first mass-produced car. The 4CV (1947) and the R4 (1961) put post-war France on wheels.
Renault invented the modern MPV with the Espace in 1984, and the Mégane Scenic mainstreamed the compact MPV ten years later.
Today the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance shares CMF platforms, making Renault parts highly interchangeable with Dacia and Nissan equivalents.
