The story of Hyundai
Hyundai Motor Company was founded in 1967 as part of the giant Hyundai chaebol, initially building Cortinas under Ford licence at Ulsan.
The Pony (1975) was Korea's first mass-produced car; the Sonata, Accent and Santa Fe later established Hyundai as a global player.
Hyundai now leads on hydrogen (Nexo) and pure-EV (Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6) tech, and the Ulsan plant remains the world's largest single car factory by output.
