The story of Mazda
Mazda began in 1920 as Toyo Cork Kogyo making cork products, then trucks from 1931 and cars from 1960.
The brand is famous for the rotary engine (RX-7, RX-8) and for the MX-5 — the world's best-selling two-seat sports car.
SKYACTIV technology launched in 2011 gave Mazda's high-compression petrols and diesels a fuel-efficiency edge over equivalent Japanese rivals.
